Wears Slaps 5 Hits Friday, August 6th , 2077 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Jason Wears, it came around today. The 33-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Estadio Latinoamericano to pace the Baltimore Kings to a 8-5 victory over the Havana Metropolitanos. Havana skipper Mark Sands told reporters in the press room that "Wears deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Wears hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Jason Wears hit a solo-shot off Zoraide Evangelista in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Zoraide Evangelista in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
