5-for-6 Day for Mazariego Friday, August 25th , 2079 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Alirio Mazariego is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Portland Dragons at Staples Field. The monster effort from the 26-year-old second baseman helped the San Francisco Friars get the win, 17-4. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Dragons manager Greg Carpenter. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Alirio Mazariego tripled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
