Fujiwara Cracks 5 Hits
Thursday, August 17th , 2079
Junpei Fujiwara was at the head of a Montreal hit parade at Ballpark of Portland. The left fielder went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Harfangs to a nice 16-7 victory over the Portland (E) Lobster.
"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Fujiwara told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."
Lobster skipper Matthew McExpos said later that the club gave up "too much plate."
"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
Junpei Fujiwara hit a two-run double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Tenchi Tanaka in the 6th, was hit by a pitch in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
Currently Fujiwara is batting .225 with 16 home runs and 47 RBIs.
