San Diego-Buffalo Deal: Tessier for Qiu Sunday, August 1st , 2083 It came down to the last hour of a self-imposed trade deadline, but the San Diego Destroyers and Buffalo Rangers finally came to an agreement on a trade that had been rumored for weeks. The trade sends San Diego's 24-year old LHP Earl Tessier to Buffalo in a swap for 24-year old LHP Matt Kloser, 21-year old minor league LF Steven Boyd, 24-year old minor league 1B Lan-quing Qiu, a 6th round draft pick, and a 7th round draft pick. Both GMs seemed relieved that the deal had been completed with one stating, "We had to set a deadline to get it done." The players are expected to report to their new teams by tomorrow. For the year, Tessier has saved 6 games while posting an ERA of 3.16 and 73 strikeouts in 68.1 innings. His totals also include a 5-2 record in 41 relief appearances. |
