Valverde Socks It to Philadelphia 3 Times Friday, July 31st , 2076 Fans are still buzzing after Chicago whipped the Philadelphia Spectres by the score of 10-3 today at Foster Field. Alex Valverde smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the first baseman bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 3 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Valverde said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Valverde said. "Three is just... wow." Alex Valverde grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Felix Talamantez in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Felix Talamantez in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Miklas Muller in the 7th. So far this season Valverde is hitting .258 with 18 home runs, 49 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He has 91 hits in 353 at-bats and a .343 OBP. |
