Monday, July 25th , 2078
22-year-old Lanny Tabares sent shock waves through Rising Star League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Western Conference Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Tabares made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .423 average, 11 hits in 26 at-bats, 4 home runs and 8 runs batted in.
Where the Las Vegas Aces second baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Tabares certainly made his mark last week.
For the season, Tabares is hitting at a .257 clip with 6 home runs, 33 RBIs and has scored 29 runs. He has 52 hits, 35 walks and a .367 on-base percentage.
