Torres Wins WC Player of the Week Trophy Monday, July 27th , 2076 25-year-old Roberto Torres sent shock waves through Rising Star League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Western Conference Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Torres made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .533 average, 16 hits in 30 at-bats, 1 home run and 5 runs batted in. Where the Tucson Toros third baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Torres certainly made his mark last week. In his season totals Torres has 6 home runs and a .327 batting average. |
