Gaedels, Lobster Swap Players Sunday, July 28th , 2080 It likely won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the St. Louis Gaedels and Maine Lobster finalized a trade today. St. Louis will send 19-year old 2B Ryan Mellon and 21-year old RHP Raudel Hernandez to the Lobster, while the Gaedels will receive 23-year old LF Wayne Curran. "We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," Gaedels general manager Mak Dolnick said. The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players joining their new ballclubs by the end of the day. |
