Kodiaks Swap Ochoa to Senators for Amendola
Sunday, July 28th , 2080
The Alaska Kodiaks and Washington Senators have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Alaska will part with 21-year old RHP Sergio Vega, 20-year old RHP Vinny Valdez, and 21-year old 2B Alex Ochoa, while the Senators have dealt 23-year old LHP Jeff Amendola.
"This one took a while to figure out," said Alaska general manager Alex King. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs."
Thus far this season, Amendola has compiled a 1-0 record, made 26 relief appearances with 1 save, hurling 29.2 innings and striking out 29. He has held the opposition to a .218 batting average with a 4.85 ERA.
