More Injury Problems for St. Louis's Javier Pantoja Monday, July 4th , 2078 Javier Pantoja was taking it slow and easy nursing a strained abdominal muscle back to good health, when he suffered a setback. According to a St. Louis team official, "Javier was making excellent progress and it appeared he would return to the squad ahead of schedule. But then he reinjured it in a light workout." Club doctors now say the 31-year-old Gaedels left fielder will be out at least another 3 weeks. So far this season, Pantoja has gotten 43 hits in 201 at-bats for a .214 batting average with 11 home runs. His stats include 29 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has played in 58 games. |
