Week's #1 Player: Kansas City's Zaldivar Monday, July 4th , 2078 His face might be sunbaked after all the years he's invested in this game, but 40-year-old Duviel Zaldivar of the Kansas City Athletics is still playing a kid's game -- and getting paid for it. The veteran first baseman had a tremendous week and was named the Western Conference Player of the Week. Zaldivar drilled 13 hits in 31 at-bats and 3 home runs on his way to posting a .419 average. He also knocked in 10 runs and scored 5 times. This season, Zaldivar is batting at a .262 clip with 16 home runs and 46 RBIs. |
