Montreal Trades Fujiwara for Las Vegas's Rodda Sunday, July 14th , 2080 Montreal and Las Vegas announced today in a joint press conference that 36-year old LF Joe Bingham, 33-year old RF Junpei Fujiwara, 23-year old C Eliecer Alarcon, 23-year old LF Yosvany Pacheco, and 19-year old RHP Zhi-qiang Meng will be going to the Aces in exchange for 29-year old RHP Carl Rodda. "It'll be exciting to join a new organization," one player said. "Some of us could use a fresh start." The players have each passed physicals and are expected to report by day's end. Las Vegas will retain a portion of Rodda's remaining contract. This season in 35 games, Fujiwara has hit at a .168 clip with 17 hits, 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 12 runs scored. To date this season, Rodda has registered 18 starts, 8-6 won-lost mark, 3.23 ERA, 108.2 IP, 76 strikeouts and 34 walks. Opposing teams have hit .244 against him. |
