Big 3-HR Day for Muto
Monday, June 27th , 2078
Kansas City Athletics left fielder Shigeru Muto put on a dazzling display of power at Aetna Stadium against the Tucson Toros. In the 8-1 Athletics victory, Muto penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.

"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Tucson manager Rick Barnes said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."

Along with his three home runs, the 26-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 8 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Muto said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."

Shigeru Muto hit a three-run home run off Ron Trevathan in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ron Trevathan in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Ricardo Quintana in the 9th.

For the year, Muto is batting .271 with 75 hits and 8 home runs. He has scored 23 times and driven in 33.
