Blagburn Shows Off, Hits for Cycle
Sunday, May 29th , 2078
Allen Blagburn did everything he could for the Brooklyn Browns -- literally.

The 34-year-old designated hitter hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the Browns, going for the cycle and helping them get past the Havana Metropolitanos, 5-1, at Brown Town.

"Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game," Blagburn reflected later. "It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat."

In a game headed for the record books, Blagburn banged out 4 hits in 5 at-bats and totaled 2 RBI and 1 run scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to "a lot of luck."

"A triple is so hard to hit," he said. "To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it's impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There's a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle."

Allen Blagburn tripled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Eddie Ferrufino in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

Blagburn is batting at a .361 pace this season, picking up 75 hits in 208 at-bats with 8 home runs, 30 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
