Armijo Keeps Hit Streak Alive
Friday, May 27th , 2078
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Alonzo Armijo did it again, bashing 3 hits in the contest at Estadio Guillermón Moncada. For the last 20 games in a row, the 24-year-old right fielder has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Santiago Avispas beat the Toronto Juggernauts, 10-1.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Armijo told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Santiago clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Alonzo Armijo hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
Armijo is swinging at a .432 pace on the year with 6 home runs, 31 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has played in 46 games.
