Sabates Gone for Season in Toronto
Monday, May 23rd , 2078
The doctors have spoken and Yoandri Sabates of the Toronto Juggernauts didn't like what he heard. The 30-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Sabates sustained his season-ending injury during the Brooklyn Browns game yesterday at Molson Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Toronto medical staff reported Sabates had a damaged elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 15 months.
During this season, he has made 20 relief appearances, earning a 2-0 record with no saves. In 21.2 innings Sabates has struck out 11 with a 4.15 ERA.
