Injury Forces Alderaan Pike Out Thursday, May 30th , 2080 Watching Alderaan Pike getting helped off the field today at Legednary Park, fans of the Tucson Toros feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the first baseman will miss 3-4 weeks with a herniated disc. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Pike suffered the injury colliding with a player at a base in the game against the Thunderbirds. Currently Pike has 13 home runs and a .246 batting average. |
