Burquez Pounds 3 HR

It was a terrific day for Antonio Burquez, who ripped three home runs at Stars Ballpark, and a disappointing one for the Los Angeles Stars who, nevertheless, dropped the game, 6-5, to the Tucson Toros.
"He was instant offense," Los Angeles skipper Pat Kaers said. "Antonio really put on a show. He more than did his part. We just didn't come through with hits at the right time to win the game."
For the day, Burquez collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBIs.
In the postgame press conference he told the reporters he has always liked to hit at Stars Ballpark.
"I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good," he said.
Antonio Burquez hit a two-run home run off Dunieski Vazquez in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Dunieski Vazquez in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Derek Bath in the 8th.
This season, Burquez has hit at a .283 clip with 15 RBIs, 5 home runs and 8 runs scored. He has played in 17 games.
