Havana Halts Ausmus's Hitting Steak Monday, May 22nd , 2079 The Metropolitanos stopped Shane Ausmus's 20-game hitting streak at Estadio Latinoamericano, but they couldn't stop the Miami Cyclones, falling by the score of 6-4. Ausmus didn't get a hit for the first time in weeks, finishing 0-for-3. "It's just as well," Cyclones manager Chris Stephan said. "We couldn't spend the whole season going out of our way not to jinx him." This season, Ausmus has posted a batting average of .271 with 35 hits in 129 at-bats, 4 home runs and 19 RBIs. He has also scored 21 runs, walked 14 times and compiled a .347 OBP. |
