Montreal Trades Santos to Brooklyn for Byrne Sunday, November 24th , 2080 BNN has learned the Montreal Harfangs have reportedly worked out a deal with the Brooklyn Browns. Sources close to the Harfangs indicated that a trade has been reached in principle where 26-year old LHP Greg Byrne will be swapped to Montreal with 21-year old minor league LHP Candido Santos and 19-year old minor league RHP Cesar Ortiz heading to Brooklyn. Neither organization would comment on the report, saying it was club policy not to speak about a trade until it was finalized. The 26-year-old Byrne has 176 appearances in his career. He has thrown 273.2 innings with 229 strikeouts and 7 saves. His won-lost record is 14-10 and his ERA stands at 3.78. |
