Testaverde Sits Out with Day-to-Day Injury Friday, September 24th , 2083 The topic du jour around Maine is whether Jacob Testaverde of the Lobster will suit up for today's contest. He was injured yesterday against the Rangers while running the bases. The standout 32-year-old designated hitter has a strained hip muscle and didn't rule out playing, but did say that if pain persisted, he would not risk further injury. "Jacob will play if he can," said the team doctor. "He hasn't got a major injury, but at the same time, we need to monitor the situation and protect him as much as possible." During the current season Testaverde is batting at a .309 clip with 26 home runs and 83 RBIs. He has played in 115 games and scored 61 times. |
