Senators Come Up Short at New York, 3-2
|
The New York Titans did just enough to sneak past the Washington Senators, 3-2, at Polo Grounds II. New York pitcher Jeong Lee, in particular, had a standout performance. In 5.2 innings, Lee surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Ray Menk collected his 14th save.
The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the first inning, when the Titans were trailing 2-1. Victor Moroxio delivered a two-out 2-run single for New York, catapulting his team into the lead.
Lee attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The Titans have an impressive 43-25 record.
