The Phoenix Thunderbirds defeated the Minneapolis Vikings, 20-6, at Minneapolis Grounds. Leading the charge for Phoenix was right fielder Sem Vreke. He went 4-5 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The losses continue to mount for Minneapolis, which has now dropped 6 in a row.

Phoenix used a well-timed hit by Mike Machacek to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Thunderbirds ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan.
