In a well-pitched game between the Portland Dragons and the Alaska Kodiaks, pitcher Taxi Sabala was fantastic. The Portland right-hander helped his team secure the win, 3-1. Sabala picked up the win for Portland, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 7-5. The first-place Dragons improved to 36-31.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Dragons had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when second baseman Wook-jin Lee hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Will Spangenberg and made the score 1-0, Dragons. Lee was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"I'm happy we won," said Sabala. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
