Minneapolis Squanders Great Game by Morikawa
Despite a great performance by Minneapolis first baseman Midori Morikawa, the Phoenix Thunderbirds defeated the Vikings by the score of 6-4 at Minneapolis Grounds. Morikawa was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. The Thunderbirds improved their record to 37-28 by beating Minneapolis.

Phoenix used the timely hitting of James Vientos to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Feels good to get the job done," Vientos said after the game.
