Aces Handed 6-4 Loss by San Francisco
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the San Francisco Friars and Las Vegas Aces.
Alberto Chavez, who finished 3rd in the WC in innings pitched with 197.2 last year, was locked in. The right-hander led the San Francisco Friars to a 6-4 win against the Las Vegas Aces at Staples Field. Chavez yielded 2 runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 10. His record improves to 1-1. Earning his 3rd save for San Francisco was O-min Che.
In the bottom of the third, San Francisco third baseman Lyalya Markosiants had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and no one out, Markosiants stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-0, San Francisco. For the game, he was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said San Francisco manager Erich Weatherholt.
The loss drops Las Vegas to 5-2.
