3-2 Loss Deepens Toronto Funk
The Portland (E) Lobster besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Toronto catcher Ruben Alcala by beating the Juggernauts, 3-2, at Molson Park. Alcala was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. John Colon was credited with the save for Portland (E), his 10th of the season. Toronto has now lost 7 consecutive games.

The Lobster got a big at-bat from designated hitter Brian Sides. For the game, Sides was 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Portland (E) a 3-2 lead.

"It was a hard game, a hard night," said Toronto skipper Marc Arnold.
