Arrows Come Back Late, Nip Destroyers
|
The Seattle Arrows and San Diego Destroyers played an entertaining game for Seaward Stadium patrons.
The Seattle Arrows withstood a fine game by San Diego center fielder Leo Arboleda at Seaward Stadium, to upend the Destroyers, 5-4. Arboleda went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Chris Booty was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-1. The losing pitcher was Dan DuBois.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Colin Cuyler? The 23-year old right fielder Cuyler stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Seattle up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We were the better team," crowed Cuyler.
Seattle currently is in last place in the Western Conference Paul Richardson Division at 28-38.
