Greens Beat Visiting Browns, 6-3
|
The Boston Greens defeated the Brooklyn Browns, 6-3, at Arrington Park today. Leading the charge for Boston was right fielder Paul Pagac. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Boston pitcher John Colon got the win. He's now 3-0. Kevin Bozek was tagged with the loss. The win puts Boston at 34-30 this season.
The Browns had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Greens going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old left fielder Victor Peraza came to the plate. Peraza hit a 2-run double on a first pitch fastball from Brooklyn hurler Kevin Bozek. It was Peraza's 5th double of the year.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Pagac.
