Phantoms Suffer 5-3 Loss to San Francisco
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the San Francisco Friars and Chicago Phantoms.
Antonio Fiss impressed in the 5-3 San Francisco win over Chicago. Fiss, who led the WC in hits with 180 in 2075, went 2-2 with 2 singles and a walk. Kelvin Vaquera, 2-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Mike Pechtel closed out the game, earning his 20th save.
Amdre Ceclio drew 2 walks for San Francisco. The 2078 Rookie of the Year Award winner had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Teh-huai Yap. It was his 24th walk of the season.
"The vibe's good," said San Francisco manager Jeremy Cooan. "We've got to keep it going."
The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Friars.
