San Francisco wasted a solid 8-inning effort from starting pitcher Cruz Ponce, losing to Vancouver, 2-1, at Fox-Chong Park. Vancouver reliever Carlos Curiel got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jeff Boffa was tagged with the loss. Vancouver, with the win, is 22-42.

Vancouver got a knockout punch from Spencer Goldsmith. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"Both teams played hard," said Vancouver manager Matt Libid.
