The Tucson Toros defeated the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 6-3, at Aetna Stadium. Tucson was led by 26-year old shortstop Ken Steak, who was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times. Tucson starter Yaciel Cusido was credited with the win after throwing 81 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-1. The Toros now own a record of 28-36.

Steak contributed in the bottom of the fourth. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Tucson get the win.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Steak.
