Wolves Fall, 9-3, to Zamarron, Aces
|
Getting a good performance from catcher Chris Zamarron, the Las Vegas Aces defeated the Vancouver Wolves, 9-3. Zamarron went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Aces. Billy Zaffuto got credit for the win, improving to 3-7. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 5 innings. Las Vegas has a record of 29-36, placing them 4th in the Western Conference Felipe Solorzo Division.
Brian Zeeff had a big 2-run double for the Aces in the bottom of the second inning. With Las Vegas leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Wade Belk, who finished 2nd in the EC in wins with 16 in 2071, and swatted a double to right. It was his 21st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Aces ahead, 4-1.
In comments to the Las Vegas Gazette, Zeeff admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
