Esperana 3-for-4 in Metropolitanos Win
|
No one was more impactful than Xadreque Esperana in the 7-4 Havana win over Toronto. Huggy Bruce got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. Toronto, with the loss, is 5-2.
In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, Esperana came to the plate. He got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run off Daniel Taylor to put the Metropolitanos in the lead, 5-4.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Havana manager Kevin Mayerhofer.
