Athletics 4-1 Losers to Toros

The Tucson Toros picked up a win at Ballpark of Missouri, knocking off the Kansas City Athletics, 4-1. Starting pitcher Tony Masso was a big reason why. Masso yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 0. His record improves to 3-8. Tucson is now 28-34.
Tucson used a well-timed hit by Etsuji Obata to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Toros ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Tony gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Tucson skipper Rick Barnes.
