Miami Downs Santiago, 6-0
|
Anton Rochambeau pitched a gem to lead Miami to victory over the Santiago Avispas, 6-0. Rochambeau, now 7-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Nees van Santen wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
Miami second baseman Anaximander McKay contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 42nd hit of the season and put the Cyclones ahead, 4-0.
"Anton -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Cyclones manager Chris Stephan. "He was the key to us winning."
Miami has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
