Baltimore Stymied by New York, 2-0
|
In a tension-filled contest between the New York Titans and the Baltimore Kings, pitcher Tadeu Carneira was superb. The New York right-hander, who finished 2nd in the EC in innings pitched with 223.0 last year, spearheaded his team's 2-0 win. Carneira picked up the win for New York, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 7-0. Ray Menk finished the game for New York and earned his 2nd save.
New York won the game in part because of DeMario Natividad. The third baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Titans ahead, 2-0. For the game, Natividad had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
Natividad called the win "an overall solid one."
By defeating Baltimore, the second-place Titans improved to 32-29.
