Twins Hand Lobster 5-3 Loss
|
Ballpark of Portland was the site of a competitive game between the Maine Lobster and Cincinnati Twins.
The Cincinnati Twins withstood a fine game by Maine designated hitter Jacob Testaverde at Ballpark of Portland, to upend the Lobster, 5-3. Testaverde went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ryan Surette got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 2.
It could have been a different outcome for Cincinnati, had it not been for Matt Lawson, the slugging left fielder . Lawson contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Cincinnati up, 3-0.
Lawson told the Cincinnati Observer: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
The win puts Cincinnati at 4-3.
