A good performance from right fielder Dave Yerges helped the Chicago Phantoms defeat the New York Titans, 7-4. Yerges belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Phantoms. Omar Romero, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 0. Earning his 1st save for Chicago was Joe Lacoste.

Chicago took a 7-4 lead on Yerges's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Matt Pontius in the top of the seventh, propelled Chicago to the win.

"I had a good game," said Yerges. "Winning makes it even better."
