Thunderbirds Suffer 5-2 Setback
The 5-2 Cincinnati win over Phoenix was due in large part to Mario Contreras. The Twins shortstop went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI. With the win, Cincinnati goes to 30-31, while the Thunderbirds fall to 26-33.

Cincinnati designated hitter Matt Lawson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 81st hit of the season and put the Twins ahead, 3-2.

"That's how you're going to be successful," said Twins manager Ryan Stoops. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
