The fans at Aetna Stadium witnessed quite a game.

Minneapolis got a terrific performance from pitcher Rafael Escobar, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tucson Toros. Tucson won the Aetna Stadium contest, 3-2. Escobar threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Albert van Dongen came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0.

The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Tucson trailing 2-0, Nelson Meza jumped on a 3-1 cutter from Johnny Wickwire for a 3-run home run, sending the Toros to a walk-off win.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Tucson manager Rick Barnes.

The third-place Toros have a record of 32-29.
