The San Diego Destroyers picked up a win at Seaward Stadium, courtesy of Johnny Veenstra. The left-hander helped his team stop the Portland Dragons, 3-2. The win leaves San Diego with a record of 4-3.

The Destroyers got a big at-bat from center fielder Leo Arboleda. For the game, Arboleda went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave San Diego a 3-2 lead.

"That's baseball," said Portland manager Greg Carpenter. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
