Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Philadelphia Spectres and Portland (E) Lobster.
The Philadelphia Spectres stymied the Portland (E) Lobster, 7-1, at Ballpark of Portland. Adam Stokes had a good day at the plate. He went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Philadelphia. Philadelphia pitcher Franklin Lastre got the win, upping his record to 4-5. Antonio Avellaneda got the loss.
With Philadelphia leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Stokes hit a curveball from Antonio Avellaneda for a 2-run home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Spectres ahead, 3-0.
"We didn't play well enough to win," Portland (E) skipper Matthew McExpos said.
The Lobster, now 27-34, have lost 5 straight.
