The Alaska Kodiaks got a superb performance from pitcher Les Ralph, but the Portland Dragons still won the game, 5-4. Ralph threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs. Portland reliever Wil Campos snagged the win, upping his record to 3-0. Javy Granillo shouldered the loss. Alberto Rosario collected his 1st save.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Xadreque Esperana came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Alaska pitcher Javy Granillo, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Portland on top, 5-4.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Alaska manager Alex King said, following the tough loss.

The Dragons improved to 31-28.
