Juggernauts Drop Lobster, 7-3
|
The Toronto Juggernauts topped the Maine Lobster, 7-3, in Eastern Conference action at Molson Park. The standout performance belonged to Toronto pitcher and Santa Teresa, Venezuela, native Gigi Cuzzocrea. Cuzzocrea got the win, improving to 3-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Toronto now has a record of 33-27 with the win.
The Juggernauts got a big at-bat from third baseman Juan Besinaiz. For the game, Besinaiz went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Toronto a 4-2 lead.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Cuzzocrea told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
