Minneapolis Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
|
Arturo Noboa, who is tied for 5th in the WC with a 2.63 ERA, was terrific for the Phoenix Thunderbirds in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Minneapolis Vikings. His performance earned Noboa rave reviews. Noboa got the win, improving to 6-5. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Jimmy Hsia notched his 10th save of the season.
Dermott Vickars helped out the Phoenix cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles.
"Arturo just settled in and did what he does," said Phoenix manager Joe Busch.
The third-place Vikings have lost 6 straight games.
