Dragons Tag Kodiaks with 4-2 Loss
|
The Portland Dragons locked up a win at Tundradome, knocking off the Alaska Kodiaks, 4-2. On the mound for Portland was right-hander Charlie Petipas. He played a major role in the triumph. The winner was Petipas. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Carlos Torres. Takuma Takahashi notched his 1st save of the season.
Portland took the lead, 4-2, on Xadreque Esperana's 11th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Alaska pitcher Roberto Banda in the top of the seventh.
Esperana called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
Portland is now 30-28, while Alaska is 28-31.
