Athletics Win by Slim Margin, 7-6
|
The Kansas City Athletics found a way to sneak past the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 7-6, in 10 innings. Kansas City pitcher Keaton Bozek, for one, had a standout performance. Kansas City reliever Elijah Yates snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Andy Miao shouldered the loss. The 4th-place Thunderbirds now sit at 25-32.
Henry Sosa delivered a big hit for Kansas City. The left fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Athletics ahead, 7-6. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"Keaton -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Athletics manager Joe Monagle. "He was the key to us winning."
