Home Loss Shrinks Dragons Series Lead to 4-3
|
The Buffalo Rangers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Portland Dragons, winning 4-2 at Portland Park today. Rangers right-hander Santiago Ontiveros threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Rangers to 4-3 in the best-of-9 League Championship.
Buffalo used the clutch hitting of Solano Antas to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Rangers the lead, 3-0. For the game, Antas had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"This was a good win for us," said Antas. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Portland Park in Portland.
