League Championship Game 1 Victory for Tamulevich and New York
The New York Titans started the League Championship in style, downing the visiting Tucson Toros at Polo Grounds II by a score of 7-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-9 series. Titans left-hander Nick Tamulevich threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball.

Kamakana Aniani hit a run-scoring double off Dunieski Vazquez in the bottom of the first, which put the Titans in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Aniani had 2 singles, while going 3 for 4.

Said losing manager Rick Barnes: "Give the Titans credit. They played a better game than we did."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Polo Grounds II in New York.
