Dragons Edge Glaciers, 4-3
|
The Portland Dragons topped the Denver Glaciers, 4-3, in Western Conference action at Portland Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Portland pitcher Jonas Juarbe. The save went to Nate Daniels, his 12th this season. So far in 2078, Portland is 26-31.
Alex Guilzar had a big 2-run home run for the Dragons in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Portland leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a sinker from former first round draft pick Ringo Pineiro and punished it. The result was his 17th home run of the season, which put the Dragons on top, 4-1.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Denver manager Todd Bleess. "But we decided not to take it."
