Minneapolis Vikings starter Vidal Cortez turned in a sterling performance against the Los Angeles Stars, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. The win elevated the Vikings to 32-25.
Had Ian Sabre not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Sabre hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Vikings.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan. "It's usually not just one thing."
